From Competition to Recognition—Team Wins National Third Prize
Five students brought psychological assessment, cognitive science, and teamwork together at a national final.

In September 2025, Yang Bang, Zhang Jie, Fei Zhixiang, Hao Ningbin, and Zhai Yihui competed in the national final of the “Houcan Cup” College Student Psychology and Cognitive Intelligence Assessment Challenge. The team, supervised by Changfu Pei and Minqi Yang, received a national third prize.
More than answering questions
Psychological and cognitive assessment requires an understanding of psychological processes, measurement, data reasoning, and real-world decisions. Preparation therefore involved more than memorizing facts. The students repeatedly considered how to define a construct clearly, select an appropriate assessment method, and support conclusions with evidence.
Working under time constraints also required the team to coordinate roles, compare interpretations, and revise solutions together. The certificate records the competition result; it also represents a sustained interdisciplinary learning process.
